In Cleveland:

+ In his 12th season with the Browns, Phil Dawson is still a clutch kicker. In the last 93 seconds of the Browns' preseason opener at Green Bay, Dawson drilled field goals of 58 and 46 yards to give Cleveland the win.

- Punter Dave Zastudil is done for the season due to a knee injury that has not recovered from surgery as was hoped.


In Pittsburgh:

+ Sixth-round pick WR Antonio Brown from Central Michigan wowed the fans with his acceleration through the Lions secondary on a 68-yard touchdown reception for the Steelers.

- Pittsburgh's first-string run offense needs to hold on to the ball. On three of the Steelers' first four possessions, a running back fumbled the football.


In Cincinnati:

+ The distracting duo of T.O. and Ochocinco seem to be opening up plenty of space for TE Jermaine Gresham and rookie WR Jordan Shipley in the middle of the field.

- No one in the Bengals' trio of backup quarterbacks has made a strong case to be #2 on the depth chart; they have instead made a strong case for Carson Palmer's need to be kept safe at all costs.


In Baltimore:

+ The Ravens' first-team offense and defense looked good all around, with QB Joe Flacco leading a 96-yard touchdown drive. The only touchdown Baltimore gave up came when Carolina returned a fumble by the Ravens' fourth-string running back.

- You can't draw much meaning from the outcome of a preseason game, where often the goal is just to get some playing time for inexperienced players. In this case, the Panthers' most experienced quarterback has four career regular-season starts.
